To what extent and how can artistic
practices favour the self-realisation, social integration, and access
to knowledge of children with disabilities and / or difficulties?
Nucleus Association aims at promoting and developing artistic practices
as a fundamental tool for non-formal education and self-realisation, to
actively fight disparities, social exclusion, and prejudices.
OUR ACTION is directed
toward children and youths with disabilities and / or in a situation of
handicap who do not enjoy fair access to education, art, and culture.
OUR MISSION is above
all pedagogical, that is, inscribed between theory and educational
practice. It concentrates on research and on the development and
assessment of methods and tools which aim at facilitating acquisition
through art.
OUR APPROACH has been
conceived in an inter and transdisciplinary research spirit, working
with art, culture, education, health, and human sciences professionals.
OUR INTERVENTIONS take
place in France, Europe, and Mediterranean countries. They include a Socialisation part aiming for a
better social and cultural integration of the young with disabilities
and / or difficulties. They also include the developing of inter and
trans community relations and a prevention action focusing on
non-violence. And finally, they comprise an Education part emphasizing on
mediated elementary teaching (mathematics, reading, writing, foreign
languages...)
